English tenor Placido Domingo concert will offer a massive free outdoor Wednesday the Obelisk of Buenos Aires, but not present at the Teatro Colon for the union conflict that afflicts workers.
The singer said that "everyone has the best he could to make this come to fruition" and confessed that the public was what worried him most, on all those who thought moving from outside the capital to a massive concert that is expected.
"I hope the public is satisfied. We're rehearsing and hope to meet with the repertory announced" he said.
tenor planned to offer two concerts on Wednesday, the first one in the theater to Columbus and then another outdoors on a stage set up about 200 meters from the Coliseum, for which about 20,000 were distributed free tickets.
Columbus employees refused to attend the concert in the theater as part of the conflict they have in six months with the mayor of Buenos Aires, Mauricio Macri (right), for better wages and other demands.
"We're going to play out of respect for Maestro Placido and all our audience. He deserves all our respect. It is a good man," said Joseph Piazza, representing the workers in Columbus.
Domingo, who did not visit Buenos Aires since 1998, said that in 2012 celebrates 40 years of his first performance in Columbus and expressed his desire to fix the problems so you can start the opera season in one of the most important theaters in Latin America.
